Library Day

Makenzie and I hadn’t read in the Anne Stevens reading room at Loussac for a long time, so we went there Sunday afternoon. It was so nice and quiet! We stayed until the security guard told us we had to leave so he could lock up since the library was closing.

Easter

All dressed up for Easter Sunday. Joel was very proud that he can properly fold his pocket square.

The cousins don’t really fit on the couch anymore. Joel and Luke are about six feet tall!

Makenzie and I love Sunday afternoons at the library and/or Barnes & Noble!

Joel and Seth played with Seth’s new tennis ball while Makenzie and I were trying to read. This is why we go to the library or Barnes & Noble. The boys just can’t help interrupting reading time. We stayed at the library until they closed and planned to go to Barnes & Noble until we were too tired to read anymore, but Barnes & Noble closed at 7 p.m. for the holiday.

Spring? Winter? Alaska!

Most of the snow melted, so Seth started wearing shorts and playing outside. He took a towel so that if he felt like sitting, he wouldn’t get wet, cold, or dirty. He’s too big to enjoy the small slide, but it’s the perfect size for his stuffed bear. Not too many days later, though, we got several inches of snow. Our Spring snow showers always surprise people, but the new snow melts in a week or less because we have so many hours of daylight to warm everything. Seth did go back to wearing pants because of the snow.

Regions Music Festival

Joel, Makenzie, and Luke went to Nenana, Alaska (close to Fairbanks) for the small school Regions Music Festival. Joel went as the ACS band director, but also got to play his trumpet to accompany one of the choirs in their final concert. Makenzie played the flute in the mass band, but I couldn’t see her when I was watching the concert online. Luke was third chair trombone in the honor band. The conductor chose a piece that featured trombones, so Luke got to play some interesting music. Both the choir and the bands from ACS did well enough to be able to go to State.

Gluten Free Brownies

Our friend Mrs. Langley makes gluten free brownies for all of the bake sales at school.  Seth LOVED his brownie today.  After one bite, he said, "AWESOME!"  After a few more bites, he said, "This is SO GOOD!!"  :-)
